Auburn quarterback Cam Newton, Oregon running back LaMichael James, Andrew Luck of Stanford, and Boise State's Kellen Moore are all in the running for the Pestigious award and will gather in Times Square for the announcement Saturday.
My number one candidate would have to be Cam Newton. The way Newton and the Tigers are playing, is impressive. Remaining undefeated at 12-0, Newton is putting up some really record breaking numbers. He threw 2,589 yards and 28 touchdowns while running for 1,409 yards and 20 more scores, adding a reception TD.
However, Oregon runing back LaMicheal James isn't a slouch; rushing for 1,682 yards and 21 touchdowns. This would definitely make James the second candidate for Heisman. While Standfords Andrew Luck and Boise States's Kellen Moore is playing great football, as well as their teams, they seem to be left in the fog as James and Newton become fan favorites.
Nonetheless, Newton will most likely be the Heisman winner.
