4.4 Quake Rocks Hawaii
A 4.4 Quake Shakes American Islands. Yesterday we reported on an earthquake in Turkey, and in the past couple of weeks we have reported on an earthquake in Chile, and another in Japan. There's a whole lotta shaking going on in the world, and it doesn't look like it's going to stop any time soon.
Yesterday at about 6:29 PM local time, a quake situated 13 miles southwest of the census-designated place of Laupahoehoe, or 20 miles west-northwest of Hilo hit Hawaii. The movement was over 19 feet below the earth's surface, making it a light earthquake.
