Stalley Concert Review
10 Months ago, I attended a Stalley show at Skully's. What did I think of his performance? I don't know. Honestly I wasn't really hip to dude and was there only to catch LxE For The Uncool's set, so I left before he hit the stage. Well, a few things have changed since then. I did a little more research on the homie from Massillon. That would then lead to me downloading his latest effort, 'Lincoln Way Nights', which is masterminded by Columbus' own Rashad. After listening to that, I began to see what a couple of my friends had tried to tell me previously.
Well, earlier this week Stalley returned to Skully's and this time I stuck around for more than just my homies' performances. Glad I did too. With Rashad as his hype-man, Stalley rocked the crowd, which could have been bigger, but y'all know how that goes. The bulk of his performance consisted of material from 'LWN', but he did take it back to 'S.T.A.L.L.E.Y.', as well doing his verse on Curren$y's 'Address'. The highlight of the night for me was when he and Rashad performed 'Slapp'. It was dope to see somethin' Rashad created be received so well by his hometown. After Tuesday night, I gained a new respect for Stalley as an MC and a performer. I was also able to see why Rick Ross recently signed him to his Maybach Music Group. Big things are happening for Ohio artists. Sleep if you want, but that alarm clock has to go off at some point.
'Lincoln Way Nights' is available for download right here on our site. If you don't have it already, type it in our search bar and get that! Joints to check for are 'Hard', 'Slapp' featuring Rashad, 'Pound' and 'Assassin' which has an ILL John Mayer sample. Your speakers in your car will thank you later
