WHAT IS COLUMBUS OHIO?
"Columbus, Ohio is a great place!" But I hear that statement from more people who moved to Columbus from other cities than actual Columbus natives, why? Could it be because Columbus does not have an entity to unite the people together for one common interest like a basketball or a football team to share pride? Some may say the Buckeyes is the team of Columbus, uggggh NO! The Buckeyes are Ohio State's property not Columbus, it is an entirely different entity (two different cities as I describe it). When the Horseshoe breaks a record for having over 105,000 people fill the stadium, its primarily filled with students, faculty, Alumni, and boosters! The fans represent the city, so do you think that the fans in the Horseshoe is an accurate representation of Columbus?
Columbus is growing and developing but it is also struggling with an identity crisis. WHO ARE WE? WHAT DO WE STAND FOR? These are questions even high civic and business leaders of Columbus are struggling with. The power to answer these questions lay within the people. Each individual person has to define who they are first in order for the city to define who it is! If not, the city will forever be lost in the sauce. Columbus' popularity is growing-how do you want the world to see you?

“We are a diverse, youthful, knowledge-based community that is open to new ideas coming in,” Mr. Astleford said. “That has not been the tradition in the Midwest.”
