Bravo premiered their new show, The Fashion Show last night and I must say, I was disappointed.
Fifteen designers compete for the opportunity to have their fashion line produced and the chance to win $125,000. The host includes singer Kelly Rowland and fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi along side judge Fern Mallis, Senior Vice President of IMG Fashion.
Yesterday's episode consisted of two challenges: a "quick" challenge were designers had to created a little black dress out of a black cotton t-shirt with a hour limit. The second challenge consisted of three groups of five designers. The designers had to create a "must have" article. Each member of the group had to re-create the same "must have" piece dead on while creating different ways the article could be worn.
Of the two challenges, there were only three article that I liked, Johnny R. and Reco. Many of the pieces look poorly made and cheap. I do like the theme of the show however I don't think the designers are qualified. In comparison to Project Runway, I personally don't think The Fashion Show will live up to they hype but I will give it two more episodes... I'm still anticipating Project Runway's return!
