ADDICTIONS Comin from where I'm from they tryna find a way out the gutter, my brother tryna get rich off the sh*t that killed our mother. Ho*s go crazy for the money like he did a good deed, while they both shake their heads at the clucks and fiends. Seems like a dream.......but this sh*t is realer than ever, streets getting worse while the drugs getting better. Ni**as promising they just gone stack money and be out the game, 10 years later see 'em drivin the new Range. Its just like sayin the addict can just put down the pipe, either way you look at it, sh*t done took over ya life. Naww it aint rite......but everybody gotta make it mane...... but Lord it gotta be another way to step up ya paper game. Even when you think you on top somebody else's job is to keep you down, money rite and you flashy then you get robbed in your own town, now you tryna make rounds..... so you can stay alive, gotta hustle even more just to get thru this strive. See how fast getting up quick can take you rite back down? I'd rather be down on my knees lookin up then watching my fall to the ground......ADDICTIONS! Had me stuck on first base, too scared to steal second, had me too afraid to die, even tho I knew there is a Heaven. Fear, that's all you got? You kno I overcame those shots. The ones that hit my knee when you aimed at my life, sh*t I forgave you for that even tho it wasn't rite. Fear you didn't kno I was a fighter?.... Thought I was the toughest around, but then you really showed me... when they laid my friends in the ground. Wasn't as brave as I thought, had me scared to have a dream, cuz its all nice when you sleep, but awake life can be so mean. Fear I kno you only bluffin, you can't have that much up your sleeve, so I'm ridin this thing out and you gone respect me when I leave.
