This year's Heisman is a toss up with all the great finalist that were nominated. Andrew Luck, the pre-season favorite, and runner up to Cam Newton last year may win it. But Trent Richardson is a fan favorite to win as well with his impressive style of play and consistency.
Along with the other finalist, Montee Ball, Robert Griffin III, and Tyrann Mathieu has had a impact on their team with their impressive season. Out of the five players, all of them are offensive players and normally all five finalist are. But this year the lock down corner Tyrann Mathieu makes his mark in the race. Mathieu had many big plays this year helping LSU to victory; along with his 2 punt return TD, 2 fumbles return TD, 70 tackles, 2 INT, and 6 forced fumbles. Tyrann Mathieu would be the only corner since Charles Woodson in 1997 to win the award as a CB.
Another finalist who's a new face but one of the best when it comes to preformance and number this year, Robert Griffin III; the first Baylor player to get an invite to the ceremony. The school has never had a player finish better than fourth in the Heisman voting. With numbers like this, he deserves his spot in the race 267-369 (72.4%), 3998 yards, 36 TD, 6 INT, 644 rush yards, and 9 rush TD.
This year's ceremony will be a very interestiing one, and maybe a shocker to some when the winner is announced. Here's a look at the other finalist's numbers.
Andrew Luck : 261-373 (70%), 3170 yards, 35 TD, 9 INT, 2 rush TD
