Topshop comes to Wal-Mart?
There has been a lot of speculating between a potential partnership between Wal-Mart and Topshop. For everyone who is clueless on what Topshop is, its only the most creative, retro, trendy clothing store from UK which was opened in SoHo, NYC December 2009. So could the creativity be hitting your local SUPER Center? Pop the link for more!
Ok, here is the skinny, The Waltons (family that owns 39% of Wal-Mart) joined Sir Phllip Green (Who owns Topshop) at the grand opening of the NYC location. Apparently, Green gave Walton a detailed run-through of the store and all of the BEST SELLING pieces.
Whoa, hold your horses! This could mean one of three things: 1. Walton's are potential investors in the Arcadia Group, who supports Topshop. 2. Green was consulting with Walton for advice on breaking into the American retail market. C'mon, he owns Wal-Mart, one of the largest retailers in North America (perhaps the world). 3. Wal-Mart and Topshop just may be collaborating to bring their fun and funky clothing your way. I think this would be a major move within the fashion industry! If you only knew what Topshop provides, you would feel the same way. Actually, go take a peek of their merchandise, www.topshop.com, and tell me what you think!
