I own a marketing company called 23rdletter marketing, llc that focuses on graphic design, photography and multimedia initiatives;

we specialize in the strategic implementation of advertising and brand packages as well as event coordination and logistics (event and party coordination). I am also the Creative Director for the OSUnity Magazine at The Ohio State University; a magazine that focuses on the African American experience at Ohio State.
How did you get into the Business?
How did you get into the Business?
I have always had a passion for art for as long as i can remember. The key was finding a way to make a living from it. So i attended The Ohio State University on an academic scholarship and i graduated with a combination major that consisted of visual communication design (art), marketing (business) and advertising (communication). While in my junior year in college, i built the foundation for my current company today with the strong support of my friends and family.
When was the moment you knew graphic design was what you wanted to do?

I think the very first moment i realized that i could make an honest living doing what i genuinely loved to do, was when the Office of Minority Affairs at OSU hired me as an undergraduate student to design various marketing materials and photograph numerous events they were having throughout the course of the academic year. In all actuality, i was so excited to even be selected for the opportunity i would have done it for free (but don't tell anybody lol). Let's just say I was very generously compensated for my efforts (i made more in those few short months than i had ever made in my life).
What/who is your biggest inspiration?

My family, hands down. They have supported me throughout any and every endeavor i have been involved with and i am forever grateful and blessed to have them all in my life. They motivate me to do and be better everyday, because i want to always do what i can to make sure i do everything in my power that they want for nothing.

"I'm me" lol Nah I'm just joking...I would have to say my motivation, my drive and my ambition among other things. I have developed a positive habit of setting goals and not stopping until i accomplish them, not just talking about them. Most people stop half way...they talk, but don't do...or they have the desire, but not the talent (or vice versa)...I believe my tenacious desire to succeed coupled with the aptitude to accomplish my goals also plays a big part in separating me from other individuals.

I hope this doesn't sound too cocky or arrogant, but i honestly feel that i don't have any competition. Not because i am better than anyone else...but because everyone has their own set of unique talents and i feel that what i have to offer in my field as it pertains to the work that i do is unparalleled. (Great question by the way lol)
What do you ultimately see for yourself in this industry? Like… what is your end goal?

I just want to be able to provide for my family, and live life comfortably...Sike! I want to be a millionaire!!! lol Ultimately, i would like to build my company to a level where the largest fortune 500 companies are coming to me for consultation about how to come up with creative marketing campaigns to help sell more products/get more clients etc.

My business partner Roy Hall (of the Indianapolis Colts) and I have something VERY special coming up VERY soon for all the young professionals in the capital city. We believe it will be something new and refreshing for everyone to enjoy as it pertains to nightlife, something different that the current club experience doesn't offer. Not too long ago i posed the question on a few social networking websites, "why isn't there any consistent event for young professionals in Columbus?", no one really had an answer...that question will soon be answered with a great solution! So definitely be on the look out for any future 23rdletter nightlife events!
